HOw to tell that one is going to do badly in a paper

*Even if you have studied for the paper.
(1) One hour before the paper, lecturer tells you that there would be no formula sheet accompanying the paper…when in the lecture notes and tutes, there were A LOT of them.
(2) Something in you syllabus will not be in the paper BUT something in someone else's syllabus is [...]
