My dad is the reason who I am today.

He is the reason why I drive carefully.
He is the reason why I make sure I take my keys out everytime.
He is the reason why I am a good cook.
He is the reason why I am an engineer.
He is the reason why I was never pressured to perform.
He is the reason why I have small eyes…heehee.

The list goes on…

Mom always say that my dad and I are similar in character.  Relatives always say that my dad and I are similar in appearance (I am tanned and so is he)  :)   I love it because I am a part of him!

My earliest recollections of my daddy is when he washed his car back in Subang Jaya.  He would let me stand close to him while he fills the bucket with water and soap.  With the foam bubbling up, he would use the garden hose to make alphabets.

He was the one who lets me wear his large Gama T-shirts which were oversized for me…I was five I think.  I have a thing for oversized tees when I was young.

My father is also the most generous man to me!  Back in primary school years, I earned money trimming grass in the garden.  Each day I earn a dollar and I got 10 dollars for ’slaving’ for 10 days…I mean, there wasn’t anything left to cut at the end of 10 days…but he still rewarded me.  Everytime I call home, he never fails to ask whether I have enough money to spend.  To the point I feel shy *blushes* heehee.

My daddy has a habit of wishing me good luck before I leave the house everyday when I was back in PJ.  I didn’t know when it started and it was awkward at first.  But I grew accustomed to it that I missed those wishes when I was studying in Melbourne.  Isn’t he the sweetest?  I still do get those wishes…through SMSes which I guess are even better cos I get to scroll to view them when I need one.  :D

My daddy is a good but messy cook.  Heehee, mommy can attest to that.  By far, I love it when he makes pork strips in dark soy sauce.  Oh lala!

He told me that we should not eat too much roti canai because the dahl has poppy seeds which makes us addicted hence giving the mamaks more business.

He is the cool dad who is always up for McD’s home delivery.  :)

He loves it when my sister or I cook pasta for him.

I guess the most significant memory of my dad is when we had driving lessons after I passed my driving test.  He wanted to make sure that I am careful and he taught me as much as he could.  Those days were pretty challenging because we would end up with black sour faces by the end of each lesson.  But I am so thankful that my dad actually took time off to teach me because safe to say, I am an alright driver.  And I treasure those times with him!  When I came back from Melbourne, he asked me why I didn’t drive.  I told him that I was scared because it was close to a year of not being behind the wheels.  He gave me the confidence that I could and I did indeed!

My dad is such a blessing to me.  I couldn’t ask for more.  Again I say, I am who I am today because of him.

Thank you for my dad, daddy!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
