So good, I would say!
I’m so enjoying myself at work. The place has been a great avenue to learn at an acceptable rate and the people are very friendly and eager to teach, which for a very long time has been a worry to me before landing on this job.
Last week hit off with a 3 hr induction on Wednesday and another 3 hr workshop the next day. The ITS Department was doing a great job in making sure that the staff especially the casuals have ample opportunity to familiarize with Lotus Notes. Despite hearing negative feedback from some users, I personally think that Lotus Notes is a very powerful tool that delivers an integrated suite which includes mail, chat, calendar and to-do functions. Might be a little sketchy to pick up at first but confidence in that product would definitely be picked up from trial and error of using it.
Today, I mean yesterday (gotta stop blogging in the wee hours) was technically the first day on the job, meeting with clients and doing hands on work. I had two configure Lotus Notes on 2 Macs and 1 PC…the Macs were a PAIN because Lotus Notes client is meant for PCs but oh well, *breathes out* thanks to my supervisors shadowing me, I managed to get them done though there were heaps to do and much to learn. My supervisors also took effort in listening to our feedback on working with the clients. How great is that?
Ah.
God’s good…waiting for 4 months for this is totally worth it. I have yet to see more!

The moment has come to face the truth
I’m wide awake, and so are you
Do you have a clue what this is? (I don’t know)
Are you everything that I miss? (I don’t hope so)
We’ll just have to wait and see (Wait, and see)
If things go right we’re meant to beThe surface is gone, we scratched it off
We made some plans, and let them go
Do you have the slightest idea (No, I don’t)
Why the world is bright with you here? (Oh, is that so?)
Stay a while and wait and see (wait, and see)
If things go right we’re meant to beOh, what a world this life would be
Forget all your technicolour dreams
Forget modern nature
This is how it´s meant to beThe time is here for being straight
It´s not too early and never too late
People say I should watch my pace (What do they know?)
“Think how you spend all your days” (They all say so)
They´ll just have to wait and see (Wait, and see)
If things go right they´ll have to agreeOh, what a world this life would be
Forget all your technicolour dreams
Forget modern nature
This is how it´s meant to be
Do you have the slightest idea (No, I don’t)
Why the world is bright with you here? (Oh, is that so?)
Stay a while and wait and see (wait, and see)
If things go right we’re meant to beOh, what a world this life would be

Got hooked to this song which was sung at the ending of Dan in Real Life. All that comes into my mind when I listen to this song is sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine. Such a fun song!

I picked up a new skill over the weekend: Tight rope walking! <Photo compliments to Valerie>

I watched 500 Days of Summer, thanks to Iris who was so nice to give me her spare ticket.

I went to Lisa Mitchell’s gig @ the Corner Hotel, thanks to Valerie who sold me her ticket. Interesting to actually watch her perform through some woman’s earring loop and another female giant’s curls. Picture thanks to Brodie who is obviously taller than me.

I became photographer assistant for a day. I was helping Anthony who was shooting a couple’s engagement pictures. Heaps of fun carrying balloons, giving them away to the two most beautiful girls, blow bubbles in the playground and get wet in the city. And best of all, I got paid for having fun!
<Picture ripped from Ant’s site>

Will be going to Youth Alive @ Hisense Arena on Saturday and maybe follow Ai Ling to watch Up! too!

Oh did I mention that I am going off to Gippy in 2 weeks time? Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Planetuni Camp 2009 was a blasssssttt!!! Short on sleep but heaps of fun with 400++ ppl! Gosh, I’m overwhelmed hearing testimonies from left right top down! Can’t wait to hear more from my urbies when we meet next Tuesday!
I am so proud of my urbies…everyone’s been telling me they are so ‘ons’ and ‘fierce’ cos we had our faces painted, came up with a chant and we even have a BANNER! How cool is that?! It’s just so great to see all of us bond from playing games! Not just that, in spiritual sense, it’s so great to see us come together to support each other in prayer.
Shift I say, SHIFT!

All of us on the last day of camp

Check them out, they are all natural jump and pose stars!
I was dead tired after camp but it was worth every bit of energy used!

Praise God! I’ve got the job that I interviewed for last week. It’s a casual job at the ITS Department and it involves me to assist them in migrating the current software that the staff are using to LotusNotes by IBM. I’m really excited because this is my breakthrough. Doesn’t matter if it is a casual job, as long as I know it’s from God!
It’s awesome to see how God is so faithful and it’s Bam Bam Bam and the next thing I know, I had the job! Three weeks ago, I prayed for a job that pays a certain amount per hour. The next day, I got to know about the job which was what I was I praying for through Hau Wei. Within the week, I got a call from the ITS department to schedule for an interview. The week after I went for an interview with three women leading the department which was unnerving at first but it went well. This week, they called to notify me that I got it! And I will be attending an induction next week which I will be paid for! How awesome is God!
Throughout this, God was really training me to stand firm upon His word and that He takes His Word seriously. When He said ‘Ask and it will be given to you…” in Matthew 7:7 He didn’t say “Ask and it will be given to you partially”. He won’t bring me all the way to the interview and leave me stranded without a job when I prayed specifically for it. He meant that it WILL be given to me. It is a done deal!
And in another note, I’m just so touched that everyone around me is so supportive. I know it’s a casual position but when I told them, they cheered for me! Really guys, thanks for seeing me through!
Best of all, it is kinda like my Mom’s bday present cos today’s her bday is today! And I guess, it would be the best I’ve given her so far: A worry-less coupon!
God is faithful. God is good.

My tummy rumbles…I’m hungry @ 2.34 am…and I’m craving for the fried beehoon that Mom gets from the morning market at SEA Park.
I found a recipe…and hope to replicate it with more oomph as well. I’ll add fishcakes, bokchoy and taugeh.

Gees, I have developed this habit of blogging at sparse intervals, haven’t I? I don’t even read my blog anymore or check its stats. I realized it’s been some time since I logged on to wordpress, the login page has already changed! Woopsie daisy me.
To be honest, I don’t keep track of what’s happening in my life. I am just making changes to accommodate what I visioned it would be like and I do like the new.
I’ve redecorated my room over the past month.

My room has a gigantic fishball lampshade that overhangs from the ceiling compliments of Anthony. New chair compliments of Hui Li when I bought a cupboard from Hui Yee.

I’ve got a Mac because my old faithful died on me which attempts of resuscitation were feeble.

Making use of Garageband and learning the guitar.

I got a haircut. (No picture here)
I went for two interviews last week. (Yay)
It’s strange that I feel that I’ve been in a stagnant state for the longest time but when I actually take notice of it, it’s only 2 months. I don’t want anymore stagnancy…because I feel like a walking dead. I absolutely hate it. I did let myself wallow in it but my tolerance to self-pity beat me out of it.
Here’s to new and fresh beginnings!
